Tailgate help from adults is usually needed starting between 4:30-5pm. I hope this helps if anyone is planning work schedules for the Fall. We are still in great need of about 10 more chaperones to make this fun yearly event work. We really need a lot of people to come out to this one because we need to pay for some of the acts that we are putting on. Immediately afterward, come to the band booster meeting which starts at 7:00 in the band or choir room. Shortly after the speech starts. Concert starts at 7 pm in the auditorium (see Sept. So many of you that helped make it a successful mb season by preparing food, donating water and supplies, volunteering your time to help with uniforms and/or the tailgate - we couldn't do this without you! Bring a water bottle, your instrument and marching band music! For pep band, the student has to take their instrument home, have their own transportation to and from the game, then be able to get their instrument back to school by Monday. Q: What answer did the marching band director get when she asked the flute player to pay a little attention? Another way to celebrate Marching Band Day is to learn more about marching bands. In Scotland the bands are mostly either pipe bands or orange order. Marching bands in the USA are known mostly for performing at sports events - namely, American football matches. However that didnt happen and the song ultimately came to be used by the Wehrmacht which is why it is classified amongst German marching songs as well. Students may get individual photos taken also but they are optional. This may very well be true, but we should also observe the other injustices of this vile institution. For the home games, we always do a tailgate prior to step-off. Drum Line and Pit Percussion (THIS IS FOR NEXT SEASON'S BAND so it includes current 8th graders!) The first practic e is Thursday Evening, February 25th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Thursday 10/17/2013) This should not be a massive newsflash. 3 practices (sometime Monday through Thursday) and take place in the morning (starting around 8 a.m.) and last an hour or two. Basket raffle: tickets may be purchased starting at 6 pm until the concert begins. Band Camp - check in begins at 7 a.m. Busses depart for camp at 8 a.m. We will need students to help load luggage on the busses! The busses will pick up at the Citizen's parking lot at the corner of Byron and Grand River. Pictures will be made up on Wednesday, September 4th! First band booster meeting is Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30 pm in the band room. Orders due September 6th - checks payable to Howell Band Boosters. Game Ends: 9:30 pm-ish (Depending on timeouts, injuries, etc.) This will be a longer performing game due to the special things that happen during Pre-Game, Half-time, and Post-Game.
