id=“mod_2653774”>Why is a lacy slip so seductive? The lacy slip is a rare sight these days but many men find the glimpse of a lacy hem peeking out under a skirt or dress a real turn-on and find women in slips far more seductive and sexy than seeing full nudes.
Slips are made of silk, satin or nylon and are either full slips or waist slips. Many people have favourite types and nylon is very popular because of its semi see-through look and its very soft and sensual feel. Full slips often have lacy bust areas as well as lace on the hems. There are slips with pleating and double layered slips, slips covered in lace, slips with embroidery and slips in just about any colour and combination of colours.
Back in the swinging '60s and earlier on in the '50s petticoats and slips were commonly worn as a woman or girl's undergarment but in recent years the practice has got less and less. For some bizarre reason clothing manufacturers and fashion designers have not been catering for the public tastes when it comes to these items of underwear, which seems strange in view of the way everything else is packaged and sold to us, and what was once thought of as scandalous and shocking is no longer so.
We all know that sex is used to sell us anything advertisers can think of to link with the subject and anything which is sexy or raunchy will get plenty of interest so why is it slips are left out to the extent they have been? Many people think a lacy slip is the most sexy article of clothing that can be worn and there are very many who have a slip fetish.
Movie directors and producers know all about the erotic appeal of a woman dressed in a lacy slip and countless actresses and some singers too have appeared in films wearing slips or have had photoshoots with them dressed in this article of sexy lingerie.
Michelle Pfeifer, Elizabeth Taylor, Joely Richardson, Catherine Deneuve, Kim Basinger, Gillian Anderson, Joan Collins, Sherilynn Fenn, Jane Fonda, Catherine Zeta Jones, Kylie Minogue and Sharon Stone are all examples but there are very many more. Janet Leigh appears wearing a waist slip in the classic horror film Psycho.
It is not just the men who find slips and petticoats very sexy because very many women do too and say that it makes them feel more feminine and attractive wearing these clothes. This has led to the demand being supplied by sellers of vintage clothing with many specialising in lingerie.

Jen is another lady, who runs a very popular slip and lingerie site. These women and their sites all make a point of stating that what they are presenting is not pornography and there is no nudity involved.
A young lady called Kate ran a website, which featured loads of photos of her wearing glamorous lingerie including sexy slips, of course, and she told me she was thinking of getting a slip campaign going.
There are a large selection of videos of a model called Rosalia on Youtube, with her mainly wearing slips in a bid to help sell the clothing on eBay for Anniepanties.
In the '90s and continuing, there have been a number of young women indie and grunge rock stars and singers like Courtney Love, who have worn slips on stage as part of their raunchy image. Katie-Jane Garside came to fame with Daisy Chainsaw when the band had a hit with Love Your Money, and she was photographed for the music press wearing a slip at the time.
This led to fashion for a while of slips being worn as outer garments, ì°ë¦¬ê³ì´ì¹´ì§ë ¸ often over jeans or leggings. There have also been slip dresses produced by fashion manufacturers and these are often hemmed with lace although they don't have the same appeal as the real thing peeking out from under a dress or skirt. Pop singer Kylie Minogue was featured on the front of FHM magazine wearing a slip dress.
Because slips have become somewhat of a rarity these days there are even Internet forums where slip lovers discuss slip sightings.
Charity shops are one place that people go to buy slips and others get theirs onine at sites like Ebay. You would think that with all this call for these sexy garments that someone would go into making them in quantity like they once did. Are the days of the lacy slip over? I think and hope not!

Back in the 70s my wife used to wear all manner of slips, mostly the harder nylon material with lace edging.To see her slip under her skirts was a massive turn particularly when crouching down.When we started our foreplay she used to sit aside me gently rubbing her slip on my …. whch made me so hard and we had some fantastic sex or she just got me so excited.I dont wear slips, cannot see the point but nowdays slips just dont seem to get worn anymore.

I love beautiful slips, particularly those adorned with lace, bows and other fancy detail that heighten a woman's femininity. Despite periodic revivals of interest in more romantic forms of lingerie, including tap panties, teddies, and slips, most woman today have abandoned the slip as well as other more truly seductive forms of lingerie in favor of thongs, G-strings and other more minimalist accoutrements. These are decidedly unsexy because they reveal too much and destroy the combination of mystery, romance and innocence represented by more traditional forms of lingerie. In my humble view, a woman looks much sexier in a pair of lace trimmed briefs or tap panties than in a thong. See the Secrets in Lace online catalog, for example. Even a simple white or pastel pair of cuff-leg lollipop briefs in nylon or cotton is sexier than the thong. My history overlaps both the more traditional styles of my youth and the unattractive styles more common today so I believe I can provide some historical perspective young people of today can't understand. Particularly offensive is the use of the term “granny panties” to apply to anything not in line with the minimalist styles more common today. This term reveals a lack of historical perspective and an inability to comprehend that the traditional styles of briefs and tap pants were incredibly “hot” in their day. A beautiful woman looks even better in those styles than in the skimpy and unsexy thong. What is hidden is often far sexier than that which is revealed.

In our eastern society, these kind of slips are limited in the premises of bedroom only. I really love that and it's my dream to have that, but the problem is that, in these days our ladies like to wear cotton made clothes. How to advice the garments factories to make the satin's slips? I think it's all an undesirable fall-out from Women's Lib. Let's face it, Steve, you and I knew some of the leading lights of Women's Lib, me being friendly and knocking around here in Ireland with Nell McCafferty for instance, fabulous woman and an even better journalist. But most of those Libber leaders I knew were hard-faced women with a political agenda that sometimes extended far beyond Women's Lib. They were many of them of the Hard Left and dressed in denims like the men at the barricade. There was no place for skips in that scene.
Loved them, but my favourite erogenous zone was where the suspender ( Garter in US English) met the nylon top, you might catch a sight of a pretty satinised moulded girdle bum too , that was awesome, grrrr.

Slips, garter belts are a thing of the past, sadly..Its hard to even find a woman who prefers a skirt or dress these days, mot look like men in jeans..I like the days when women were in suits, satin blouses, dresses and especially the thin white silky blouse that you can see a half slip thru, why do all good things come to an end? i hate the way women dress these days, nobody has class anymore

I have always loved half slips. Everytime I see a woman in a dress or skirt I try to see if she is wearing a slip. It is rare but I still catch an accasional glimse of lace. My wife wears half slips for me around the house because she knows I find them sexy, but has never worn one under a dress or skirt to go out. I'm 20 and considered very attractive. I started wearing full nylon and satin slips a couple of years ago when I wore a wrap around skirt and my mother wouldn't let out of the house unless I wore a slip underneath.I was mad at her and didn't want to wear one because I thought they were old fashioned. I gave in when she gave me really sexy little nylon slip, it felt so good against my skin. I also noticed i received much more attention from guys. The only problem I find is that I'm much more ticklish when I wear one and my boyfriend knows this and tickles me every time I wear one. It doesn't put me off wearing them though. I have been wearing a dress to work four out of the five days over the last three weeks. I have been letting a slip show below my hemline. It has turned on my co-worker so much, he's laying himself out on the floor on his back and having me step over him across his chest. His desire. He enjoys watching the slip passing over him. It's too bad that women today do not wear pretty silky nylon and lace trim slips like the 1950-1970's era. As a result, maybe the divorce rate would decrease, and there may even be a population explosion. I think many men miss women wearing a beautiful silky shiny and lace trimmmed feminine full or half slip. Is there any hope for this?

I think the full nylon slip is the sexiest piece of female lingerie on this planet. Back in the mid 80's my twin sister Vanessa and I both in our early twenties, we were both working as nurses in the same Hosiptal, we rented a house together as my sister and I were very close, my sister used to wear a white uniform to work every day and it was not uncommon when we got home from work for Vanessa to remove her white uniform to wash it and sit beside me on the lounge in her nylon slip to watch tv. I also discovered that Vanessa mostly wore white nylon bra,s and panties under her slips for work, but she also had a variety of coloured nylon undies for wearing under jeans and coloured dresses etc.I appreciated my sisters taste in lingerie and when I met my wife to be I introduced her to the world of beautiful nylon lingerie, my wife wears full nylon slips when ever she wears a dress or skirt and blouse, and nylon panties under her jeans and dress trousers, she always wears matchining bra and panty sets in, black, pink, blue and white etc. I have been very fortunate to have been close to women in my life who love wearing nylon lingerie.

Hurrah for uber-sexy nylon slips and (as they have been mentioned in some earlier comments) nylon panties. I absolutely adore seeing women dressed in both items of clothing and they truly are the most feminine and beautiful articles of clothing a woman can wear. It is so much sexier to see a body slightly obscured by the sheeny, lace edged fabric of a slip, than just all on display without embellishment. The 1980s were a golden period for me when all ages of women, including schoolgirls, wore slit skirts with lacy nylon slips visible at the slits. Wow, that was the best. What are the fashion industry playing at not rediscovering that look? After all everything else gets recycled, so here's hoping! I can only agree with so many others. Slips are sooo sexy. Being nearly 60 now I can remember the girls of the 60s raising their skirt hems as fashion dictated but not wanting to waste money on new slips would tuck the slips up in their waist bands and of course they would drop down and expose the hem.
I've spent a long time analysing the attraction and I think that when I was going through puberty and getting interested in sexy things and girls the slip was percieved as the first “underwear” that was seen. Catching a glimpse of hem lace was like seeing the more intimate pants or bra made of the same stuff. Bear in mind that at this time there was no pubic hair or vulva shown in mens magazines and I think that is why many of my age are focussed on the lingerie.
On TV shows a woman getting undressed down to slip was the code for getting fully undressed. I remember watching “Poor cow” a television play about a con coming out of prison and going straight to bed with his wife. You can imagine he was pleased to see her but she still went to bed with her slip on. Indeed the BBC had a code that it was OK for a girl to appear on screen in a plain slip and be in bed. If the slip had lace on (very racey) she had to keep one foot on the floor if ever you did. I wasted hours watching plays and shows hoping for a glimpse of slip and in those days it was once or twice a week that the nudity was implied by stripping off to a slip. I think today's youth are more likely to find nudity their turn on. They have free access to moving images via the internet and can see everything. No need for subtelty. Indeed what was porn when I was 17 is now in newspapers! I guess in a way its healthier to be attracted to the women rather than their clothes.
I still have the slip bug. My wife has a good selection but doesn't wear them as much as I'd like. Indeed the sight of a slip is a big turn on and the feel of a warm body in the nylon is wonderfull but the practicality of getting to the woman inside is a problem and in the end the slip gets in the way. We have tried 1/2 slip under a full slip so that the top slip comes off after a good cuddle and then its not so difficult.
I used to wonder why the generation older than me was interested in directoire knickers and corsets and I think they were hooked on what was fashionable when they were young. Its for this reason that I dont think slips will make a comeback. Today's youth are going to be thong and ì°ë¦¬ê³ì´ì¹´ì§ë ¸ bra obsessed and today girls are going to wear those things to attract the attention. It would be a brave girl who risks missing out on the attention by wearing all covering underwear. Thank goodness for all the slip sites to keep me interested.

Slips & Petticoats are without a doubt the sexiest article of clothing a woman can wear. If you dont't believe me Ladies, try going out with a little lace peeking out the hem of your skirt or dress and see how much attention it receives.
My wife ususally wears slips with skirts and dresses and always wears a full slip to bed, ususally a vintage Van Raalte or Vanity fair.

Growing up in the 1960 /1970s , my mother always wore a slip. Although she was not comfortable with me seeing her in her knickers she was quite happy to walk about the house with just her slip on, even though being of sheer nylon, ì°ë¦¬ê³ì´ì¹´ì§ë ¸ her panties were always clearly visable underneath.
My wife, like a previous comment is from Nigeria where most women still wear slips. When we first met she explained to me that when wearing native attire the skirt is formed simply by wrapping a length of material around the waist and so to avoid showing the world their knickers should the material come adrift, women wear a slip underneath.
She has a large collection of slips and I love to see her wearing them. She often wears them without a bra which adds further to my exitement.

My wife ADORES slips. She knows that when she goes about the house in only a full slip (cooler months) or half slip (warmer months) that she has gotten my attention. She will even wear 3 to 4 under her skirts. On one evening out, she wore nine slips (3 full, 6 half) under her dress. When she wants to have a bit of extra fun, she wears 1950's style petticoats or full slips that have the full petticoat style from waist down. These do have a bit of a problem staying hidden under her skirts, but I think she knows that. The one type of slip that I kind of cringe on is when she wear a torn up slip.

While it is undoubtedly true that a woman in a slip looks far more alluring than in anything else, it is also the case that most men just do not allow themselves to appreciate what a skip feels like. Against the skin it is just fabulous.
OK, it used to be a 'sensation' holding a woman who was wearing a slip which enabled a man to get that tactile experience but it is rare these days.
When I was a lad, the 'transition' from little girl to big girl was marked by a longer dress with a slip. That was back in the 50's. A girl used to look forward to her first grown-up slip. And as a lad I was always on the lookout for that lacy flash at the hem of a dress. It was only later that I discovered wearing one myself.
I wear a short slip a lot. I have several. They go well under a shirt and tuck into trousers easily. I also have some longer slips (to the knee) in which I can lounge in of an evening; It is pleasant to sit and see a lacy hem at my knee. And I have some floor length ones that are nice for late evening that not only keep my legs warm but feel so fine around my calves.
I also have some petticoats, including a mid-length very full chiffon petticoat that feels gorgeous.
I often wonder if the 'explosion' of cross dressing - well chaps wearing women's underwear - is due to women themselves not being so adventurous in that regard and giving up so much of femininity.

Back in the late 1960's when women began wearing mini skirts, this must have been a great time for getting regular glimpses of a slip showing. As skirts lengths became very short, the length of slips couldn't have been that much less than the skirts, so much more likely to peek out, presuming that women wore slips under mini skirts then. Unfortunately I wasn't around then so I don't actually know, perhaps people who were can enlighten me?

It has also been a very interesting experience and an ongoing one by I did an interview with slip model Lady Phenie and have another one for the future with a lady called Jen, who is well known to slip-lovers. There is a very large amount of interest in slips and perhaps what I should do is write a book on the subject? No one seems to have done that yet and it could be the success I have been looking for!

I would have thought that was obvious - I personally find slips really attractive and would like to see them make a comeback in the world.

It seems strange in a world increasingly driven by how good people and things look that an item of clothing that definitely helps women look more attractive has been on its way out. Not to mention how good they feel! Surely clothes should feel good as well as be functional? It just doesn't add up!

Very sexy hub. I used to really love wearing slips. Slips were mandatory when wearing a dress sheer enough that the silhouette of one's legs showed when backlit, back when I was growing up. Nowadays skirts are usually designed so that this isn't a problem, so a slip isn't needed.
And of course, you never wear a slip with pants.
So slips are going the way of stockings, corsets, and garter belts. They're not “real” clothes, they're costumes, lingerie worn for pleasure, not for fashion.

I am a 58 year old married hetero. I love to wear lingerie, panties, garters,ect. But slips are the best.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Better than porn.
Crossdressing in lingerie is not complete without a full nylon slip.
I am also weak for Olga Nightgowns.

I still wear a half slip. I have serveral that were handed down from my mother. But I had no idea men found them that attractive. But I guess men love women in all lingerie.

i love lacy slips, have done since school days when girls wore them most of the time. i started to find i enjoyed my fetish and began wearing halfslips that i 'borrowed' from friends. then got a good collection of my own. love to wear a slip outside and let the breeze rub the silky material against my legs. i know its still better to see a lady in one but in the end theres not alot around so i have to do with what i have. maybe someday they will make a comeback. take care guys. colin.

I really miss glimpses of slips nowadays. I've been an admirer for many years and have gathered my own private collection of waist and full slips. Charity shops are a good source of supply. It's sad the ladies nowadays prefer not to wear slips, I hope they'll make a comeback soon.

Great info !! I have loved ladies who wear half slips since the early 1970's and still enjoy. Don't know how I got wired this way, but putting in perspective, at least I am not a serial killer.

Call me old fashioned; however, I wear a slip EVERY time a wear a dress. Probably the way I was raised.
Don't the women that do not wear one get tired of the dress or skirt going between their legs while they walk? And wouldn't it be MORE alluring than revealing yourself via see-through dresses and skirts?
